The "visa-free countries for Indian passport" list is one of those things people forward on WhatsApp and half of it is out of date within six months. Countries change their rules constantly — Thailand went visa-free in 2023, Malaysia followed in 2024, Iran added and dropped it, Vietnam expanded e-visa. Fully visa-free (just show up)

These are the golden ones — turn up at immigration with your passport, get an entry stamp, and you're in.

• Thailand — up to 60 days (extended in 2024 and holding)
• Malaysia — up to 30 days
• Indonesia (Bali and other entry points require a small entry levy)
• Sri Lanka (as of the 2024 reciprocal arrangement — check before you fly)
• Nepal — up to 90 days, land or air, no passport strictly required but recommended
• Bhutan — permit-based, effectively visa-free for Indians
• Maldives — up to 90 days
• Mauritius — up to 90 days
• Georgia — up to 365 days (yes, a full year — the best deal in the world for Indian passports)
• Kazakhstan — up to 14 days
• Serbia — up to 30 days
• Jamaica, Barbados, Trinidad & Tobago, Dominica, Haiti, Grenada, Saint Vincent — most Caribbean nations grant visa-free entry to Indians
• Fiji, Vanuatu, Cook Islands, Niue, Palau, Samoa, Micronesia — Pacific island nations, mostly visa-free
• Ecuador, Bolivia (e-visa easy), several other Latin American nations offer visa-on-arrival or ETA

Visa on arrival

You still need to queue at immigration but no advance application. Bring a passport-size photo and USD cash (most VOAs are dollar-priced).

• UAE — VOA if you hold a valid US visa, UK residence, or Schengen; otherwise e-visa

• South Korea — K-ETA

Special mentions

• United States: 10-year multi-entry B1/B2 possible, huge boost to your visa-free access downstream (unlocks UAE VOA, Mexico visa-free, several others).
• Schengen: Once you have one, subsequent Schengen visas are much easier and future Georgia/Serbia/Turkey trips get lower scrutiny.
• United Kingdom: Long-validity visitor visas available (2, 5, 10 years).

Don't confuse "arrival" with "entry"

Every one of these still requires:

• A passport valid at least 6 months beyond your entry date
• Proof of onward or return travel (this is where a proper flight reservation for immigration matters — never book a real ticket just for proof)
• Proof of accommodation or address
• Sometimes proof of funds (a bank statement)
