Common mistakes that delay travel

None of these are exotic. They're the six things that quietly cost people their trip dates every single week.

Passport validity

Most countries want six months of validity left from your arrival date — and some count from your return date. Renew early rather than gambling on it.

Forgetting the transit visa

A long layover can need its own visa even if you never leave the airport. Check every airport your ticket touches, not just the final one.

Residence vs nationality

Your rules come from the passport you travel on, but your residence permit can unlock easier routes. Mixing the two up is the most common rejection we see.

Photo specifications

Wrong background, wrong size, glasses, a smile — photo rejections quietly add a week to an application that was otherwise ready.

Proof of funds

Bank statements need to look steady, not topped up the day before. Consulates read the last three to six months, not just the closing balance.

Overstaying visa-free limits

Visa-free is not unlimited. Overstaying even by a day can mean a fine at the airport and a black mark on future applications.
