Air France Strike 17 to 21 October: Check Your Flight

About 36,000 crew have given strike notice at Air France, Transavia France and Corsair. Flights in France may be hit this week.
What’s happening
Crew members at Air France, Transavia France and Corsair have given notice of a strike from 17 to 21 October 2026. The notice covers around 36,000 people across the three airlines, so this is a big one. A strike notice does not always mean every flight gets cancelled. Airlines usually publish a reduced schedule a day or two before, so the picture can change quickly.
Which airports could be affected
Paris Charles de Gaulle and Paris Orly are the main ones to watch. Nice, Lyon and Marseille are also likely to see delays or cancellations. If you are flying into or out of any of these, do not assume your flight is running just because you haven’t heard anything yet.

Why connections are the real risk
Many travellers from India go to Europe and North America with a stop in Paris. If one leg is cancelled, the next flight can leave without you, and rebooking during a strike gets difficult because everyone is trying to do the same thing. If you booked the whole journey on one ticket, the airline has to deal with the connection. If you booked flights separately, you carry the risk yourself, so check how your ticket was issued.
Other strikes this month
It is not only France. A strike by 130 Unite members at Leeds Bradford Airport was planned from 16 to 18 October, and Air Corsica pilots filed notice for 9 to 16 October. If you have plans across Europe and the UK, check each leg of the trip.

What to do right now
Open your airline app and check your flight status today, then again on the morning of travel. If your flight is cancelled, ask for a rebooking or a refund. Keep all receipts for meals, transport and hotels. If you can choose, avoid tight connections in Paris this week, and keep your hand baggage packed with essentials in case of an overnight delay.
